I wrote a bit of a sarcastic reply to this:

Fairfield cell phone ban too strict

In response to "Fairfield may revise cell-phone policy" (Sept. 5), I feel it is definitely time for Fairfield Schools to change their cell phone rules. I understand that the possibility of students using their cell phones during the day is an issue, but kids need to be able to contact their parents before and after school because of the school busing being cut. Banning cell phones from school property is extremely strict. I'm sure Fairfield Schools can find a way to allow cell phone use before and after school, but not during the day.

There's all kinds of flap in Fairfield right now because some of the kids have to walk almost a mile to school. It's child abuse, I tell you.

I have no problem with people having cell phones. My problem is with the idiotic individuals that have no sense of decency as to when they should use them. If you are at dinner with others, turn it off, unless your mother is dying! Even then, you can't help her, so what's the point?

Turn it off in quite places, movies, theaters, libraries, class rooms, court rooms, hospitals, board meetings, etc. If you can't figure that out without someone telling you to do so, then you are a MORON and should be shot!!!

Ummm... My cell phone is almost always on. But since no one ever calls me, it's never an issue in restaurants or hospitals. Except for my former boss, who really, really thought that I should use my time when Trav was having surgery to make phone calls.
